In my opinion, there is a equipment gap when introducing kids to strength training. That is until the introduction of the Young Buck Rack and Bench by Bridge Built which hit the mark with their exceptional design and premium quality. These pieces of equipment are not only functional and durable but also visually appealing, making them a perfect fit for home gyms where the kiddos can be a part of the action.
What I Love
1. Vibrant and Fun Color Choices
The Young Buck line stands out with its bright and vibrant color options, including Energy Green, Ultra Violet, Electric Blue, and Volcano Orange. These colors make the equipment fun and inviting for kids while still maintaining a polished and professional aesthetic that adults can appreciate. I sprung for the Ultra Violet because my kids are girls and as a Minnesota Vikings fan, the purple just called to me. I also was able to color match that to a Rogue OSO Mini Barbell.

2. Heavy-Duty Build
The Young Buck Rack and Bench are built tough. Essentially what the Bridge crew did was simply scale down their Phoenix Squat Rack to make something special. Made with 2x2” 14-gauge steel, the rack feels incredibly sturdy, rivaling equipment built for adults. The durability and quality ensure it can handle regular use and grow with your kids as they develop their strength. Mostly for fun, I actually worked up to a 405 lb squat out of the rack myself and felt confident that it wasn't gong to topple over however, I don't recommend using it if you're not a Young Buck.

3. Compact and Easy to Set Up
One of the standout features of the Young Buck line is how compact and easy it is to use. The rack and bench take up minimal floor space when folded, and they can be deployed in seconds. This makes them ideal for multi-purpose home gyms where space is at a premium. When the Squat Rack is setup it takes up a footprint of 36" x 36" and folded up it is just under 36" x 6" and butts up nicely to a wall. The unit is capable of freestanding as well and has been stable enough for my kiddos to handle without it tipping over when in the stored configuration.
4. Bridge Built Design Inspiration
The Young Buck Rack is a scaled-down version of Bridge Built’s flagship Phoenix Rack, and it retains the same high-quality aesthetic and functionality. This connection to the Phoenix Rack ensures that kids’ equipment doesn’t feel like an afterthought—it’s a true extension of a professional-grade product.

5. Bench Pad Quality
The Young Buck Bench pad deserves a special mention. It’s both grippy and comfortable, providing a stable surface for exercises like bench presses or step-ups. It measures 12" wide x 32" long and weighs 25 lbs. The bench also breaks down quickly for easy storage, adding to its versatility and is stable and strong enough to support adult lifters for DB rows, Bulgarian Split Squats, and other accessory lifts.
What Could Be Improved
1. Slightly Taller for Pull-Ups
While the rack works beautifully for most exercises, it could benefit from being just a bit taller. As it stands, my 8-year-old daughter can’t comfortably perform pull-ups on the 60" tall rack without having to hang and bend her knees, which limits the versatility of the pull-up bar. This isn't a critical critique by any means, my 8-year-old is tall and strong enough to use Daddy's power rack, but she still enjoys having her own equipment.

2. Add Wheels for Mobility
The Phoenix Rack has optional built-in wheels, making it incredibly easy to move around. The same feature is available on the Young Buck Rack and can be purchased here.
Final Thoughts
The Young Buck Rack and Bench deliver a perfect blend of functionality, durability, and style. They’re compact enough for home use, sturdy enough for serious training, and visually appealing enough to inspire kids to enjoy working out.
With minor tweaks—like a taller frame and added wheels for mobility—the Young Buck Rack would be flawless. Even as it stands, this line is a fantastic choice for families looking to foster a love for fitness early in life. I know my girls are enamored by the Violet color and are always excited to get a quick squat session with Daddy.

Whether you’re introducing your kids to strength training or just want a quality setup that fits their needs, the Young Buck Rack and Bench are worth the investment. These products are more than just gym equipment—they’re tools to help kids build strength, confidence, and lifelong healthy habits.
